I work online and face to face in clinic in Southwell, Nottinghamshire. Where indicated, I can consider other local Nottinghamshire venues for face to face work if I have capacity to do so.
I charge £70 per hour for remote work over MS Teams. For face to face work, the cost of the room for an hour is added to the fee dependent on the cost of the venue.
CBT sesisons are typically an hour - so cost £70 each.
EMDR sessions are typically 1 hour charged at £70, however during the trauma processing phase sessions may be extended to 90 minutes to give space for difficult feelings that may surface. These sessions are charged at £100 for the 1 hour 30 minute session.
I work with clients over the age of 18 who want to access therapy for depression, and/or an anxiety disorder. These could include Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), OCD, PTSD, health anxiety, phobias and panic disorder.
I usually recommend having sessions once a week initially, to help with learning and embedding new skills. I appreciate sometimes life does get in the way so can consider fortnightly sessions with you - however if this doesn't seem to be working well, it may need to be revisited/reconsidered. Towards the end of therapy, it's usual to space sessions out with bigger gaps in order to get you used to flying solo with your new skills and insights.
There is not a "one size fits all" answer to this and it'll depend on your difficulty and goals. Many people can see a big improvement in how the feel in 8-12 sessions. Others need more repetition and/or more time if they have had a lot of difficult experiences or their difficulty has been present a long time. I'd encourage you to have a free 20 minute consultation with me if you're interested, as I can offer more of a clear answer on this question for you as an individual at that point.
Then that is absolutely ok and there is no pressure to go ahead with working with me. Having a consultation is about finding the "best fit" for you and if that's not me, then I will do my best to offer you some guidance on finding a therapist who is skilled in helping you to reach your goals for therapy.
